First for Sustainability

Central Park is one of the most energy efficient tower buildings in Australia with a 5-Star NABERS Energy base building rating without Green Power. Over the past five years, continuous improvements have seen energy use reduced by 30% throughout the building. Further reductions are targeted over the next few years.

Energy efficient plant, careful management and ongoing improvements have seen Central Park outperform many of Perth’s other commercial buildings. It was the first in the city’s CBD to incorporate a solar PV system to provide renewable energy. The system incorporates 49 panels and will generate 16,000 kWh of electricity a year.  In addition, the base building is carbon neutral through the purchase of carbon credits.

Central Park also has a 4 Star NABERS Indoor Environment Quality rating, based on the building’s thermal comfort, air quality and acoustic comfort. This high rating has been achieved through the close monitoring and control of building temperatures, the use of high efficiency air filters, and an ongoing program of regular air quality audits.
